Warning: contains photos of boobs doing something totally natural 🤘

At the end of the day, it’s all about feeding your baby and your baby maintaining a healthy weight, whatever that looks like. 😘

But I feel eternally grateful that I could do this for Arlo. šŸ™

As with most feeding journeys, it wasn’t without its hardships and crazy moments, but looking back at these photos makes me feel blessed and proud. 🄰

So much happened in those 13 months…

Collecting as much colostrum as I could whilst on the ward after Arlo made his early appearance at 36 weeks.

Getting the creon in him at 2am - grappling with that stupid tiny spoon, a pack of apple purĆ©e, and hands that were shaking due to Arlo’s hungry cries in the background.

Feeding at home.

Feeding on the go (one of these photos was taken in the middle of a tourist attraction in Brighton šŸ˜Ž).

Pumping so Martyn could do a feed and help me get more sleep!

Just a few highlights that show how varied our journey was. For about 2 months I gave up on pumping (dairy cow vibes got to me šŸ˜†šŸ„) so the one bottle a day that Martyn gave Arlo was formula rather than breast milk. You gotta do what works for your family! šŸ™Œ

But I wouldn’t change a thing - including the blood, sweat, tears - and spilt milk! (Anyone who said there’s no need to cry over spilt milk had clearly not just pumped it from their boobs! 🤣🤣🤣)

The female body can do incredible things. šŸ’ƒ

Arlo’s Army: We Won’t Stop Until CF Does

There’s no cure for CF yet. Even with groundbreaking new treatments, daily life for people with CF remains a heavy burden and many aren't eligible for these new drugs. That's why we're raising money. To fund cutting-edge research. To support families like ours. To keep pushing until CF stands for Cured Forever.

CF affects over 11,000 people in the UK — and more than 100,000 globally. It impacts the lungs, pancreas, and other organs, turning mucus thick and sticky, and making everyday life a battle for breath.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is leading the charge to change this. They fund game-changing science, support families, and fight for better treatments, care, and — one day — a cure.

Join Arlo’s Army today.

Stand with us. Donate. Share. Fight for a future where no child has to grow up fighting CF.
