Stand up if you were a star for your annual review

This boy was a total dream at his annual review today - which, at its most basic, can be described as a long day of ‘prodding and poking’ - and lots of talking. All of which toddlers famously love 🤣🤣🤣

He was such a chilled little man - proud mama over here 💕

Here’s a breakdown of our day:

  • Scans to check Arlo’s liver, kidneys, spleen etc.

  • X-rays to check his lungs 🫁 (he actually didn’t need one today because he had one in May and they don’t want to expose to radiation too much - but in all honesty he was gutted cause the room was lit with a disco ball and this boy just wanted to party in there🕺)

  • Met with the CF nurse 🧑‍⚕️

  • Bloods were taken 🩸 (Arlo was the best he’s ever been - so brave! How are toddlers so hardcore 🤯)

  • Spoke with the dietician 🍽

  • Spoke with the physio 🌬

  • Visit from the pharmacist to go over current medications 💊

  • Spoke with his consultant to review his overall health and care plan - and to talk through the last year 🩺

And then headed out into the sunshine ☀️

We only go to this hospital and see this team once a year but they already feel familiar and it’s like having a second support network of people outside our regular team who can offer so much new advice and guidance. Forever grateful 🙏 💕

Hardly took any photos as I just like to be present and focus on Arlo - this is about him, not my page - but swipe through to see the pre-annual review prep and a couple from the day. ☺️

Arlo’s Army: We Won’t Stop Until CF Does

There’s no cure for CF yet. Even with groundbreaking new treatments, daily life for people with CF remains a heavy burden and many aren't eligible for these new drugs. That's why we're raising money. To fund cutting-edge research. To support families like ours. To keep pushing until CF stands for Cured Forever.

CF affects over 11,000 people in the UK — and more than 100,000 globally. It impacts the lungs, pancreas, and other organs, turning mucus thick and sticky, and making everyday life a battle for breath.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is leading the charge to change this. They fund game-changing science, support families, and fight for better treatments, care, and — one day — a cure.

Join Arlo’s Army today.

Stand with us. Donate. Share. Fight for a future where no child has to grow up fighting CF.
